In order to be able to read, you need to learn about shapes and letters.

*Shapes*

Shapes help you recognize the letters. Letters are just a combination of shapes fitted together. There are four basic shapes in letters: circles, lines, curves, and angles. These shapes are present in all the letters of the alphabet.

*Letters*

Letters are the building blocks of words. There are 26 letters in the English alphabet. Each letter has its own sound or phoneme.

There are two types of letters: consonants and vowels. Consonants are the letters that do not make the vowel sound. There are 21 consonants in the English alphabet. Vowels, on the other hand, are letters that make the vowel sound. There are 5 vowels in the English alphabet.
