Plot Structure in Fiction

Fiction is a form of literature that tells a story. A story consists of many elements, including characters, setting, plot, and theme. Plot is the sequence of events that happen in a story.

A plot has five essential parts: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. The exposition is the beginning of the story that introduces the characters, setting, and conflict. The rising action is the build-up of events that lead to the climax.

The climax is the point in the story where the main character faces the most significant conflict. It's the turning point of the story. The falling action is the events that occur after the climax, leading to the resolution, where the conflict is resolved.
